Stainless steel rod welding is a process that uses stainless steel welding rods to create strong, corrosion-resistant welds on stainless steel, carbon steel, low alloy steels, and non-ferrous metals. 

Stainless steel welding rods are also known as stainless steel electrodes. They are designed to bond stainless steel materials effectively and are available in various grades for specific applications. 

Stainless steel can be welded using a variety of processes, including: Shielded metal arc welding (MIG), Gas tungsten arc welding (TIG), Stick welding, and Resistance welding. 

Resistance welding uses an electrical current to melt the metal and bind the edges together. It's a good option for stainless steel because it creates clean welds without filler material or weld spatter. However, it requires a welder with sufficient power output to prevent deformities.

Welding rods, also known as electrodes, are the materials that are melted and infused during processes such as stick welding. To utilize a rod, you must first attach it to your welding equipment, creating an electric arc between the base metal and the welding rod
